(NC)—Now may not be the right time to give your home the top-to-bottom makeover of your dreams. But there are many smaller things you can do, especially in kitchens and bathrooms that will make a big difference for a small investment.
A change of colour on walls, for example. One trend at the moment is a new neutral – green. Avoid extreme tones, and you'll find that green works well with other colours, and certainly gives a fresh look to your home.
Then you can add a vanity to your bathroom, or install a more modern model. There are many to choose from today. Extra storage space will tidy up bathroom clutter, and will start you thinking about another way to bring style and glamour into your home – decorative hardware.
It's so simple, and not at all expensive to replace your old cabinet hardware, the drawer and door knobs and pulls, or bathroom hardware and coat hooks, with something that looks and works better. Done right, it brings a new look to your home, co-ordinated from room to room.
Choose a brand that offers product depth – Amerock, for example. If you fall in love with one of their styles you'll find it's available in many product shapes, sizes and finishes, even hard-to-find, oversize items.
The latest of the new finishes are two metallic finishes. Caramel Bronze has a glow all its own, rich and coppery. The second, Brushed Bronze, plays up the silver and gold tones in any room.
