Canadian scientists lend expertise to pesticides
(NC)—Did you know: A Health Canada branch called the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is responsible for regulating pesticides in this country? They employ over 300 scientists whose job it is to evaluate pesticides. These scientists include biologists, chemists, toxicologists, epidemiologists, plant pathologists, weed scientists and entomologists. They make sure that only pesticides that meet the strict health and environmental standards outlined by the PMRA are registered for use, or for sale in Canada.
