The pressure of a white smile
(NC)—In an age where photos are constantly being shared, pinned and tagged online, no one wants a bad photo of themselves floating in cyberspace.
According to a recent study by Crest and Oral-B, 55 per cent of Canadians who have used at-home whitening strips did so to increase their self-confidence and to feel more comfortable smiling in pictures. It's no wonder then, that 86 per cent of us say that a smile is essential to a person's overall appearance.
Here are some tips from Dr. Tamo, a consulting dentist for Crest and Oral-B, on how to keep your smile white, bright and healthy:
• If you often enjoy drinks that may stain your teeth like coffee, wine or pop, consider using Whitestrips to whiten your smile.
• Quit smoking. It may be easier said than done, but smoking stains your teeth and as we all know, is bad for your health.
• Visit your dentist regularly to check for cavities and gingivitis.
• Always brush, floss and rinse daily.
• Keep an extra toothbrush at work to keep your teeth clean and your breath fresh throughout the day.
