Transform a room inexpensively with paint

(NC)—The experts at Benjamin Moore say spring is the most popular time of year to refresh our homes with paint. Sharon Grech, the company's colour and design expert explains how transforming the look with paint is a budget friendly way to update an interior:
1) “Paint has such transformative power,” she begins. “With a bit of planning and some elbow grease it can completely update a room's look without breaking the bank. You might not change your paint colour every season, but if you're influenced by spring, look at fresh, soft colours like Hidden Cove or Sweet Cream. Both are easily accented by fashion forward pastels like Sagebrush or Lime Sherbet.”
2) Who doesn't love beautiful art for the walls? Big, beautiful pieces can make a huge impact, but can also be costly. A great alternative is to hang a mirror with a stylish frame. A mirror can fill the wall with a decorative accent while reflecting light and opening up the space. It's a designer trick that's been used for years and doesn't cost a fortune.
3) De-clutter. Get rid of the items that are weighing the space down. Collect books and other odds and ends lying around the house. Organize all these items in collections that work together in the room. Keep half of everything and let friends and family treasure hunt through the rest.
