Laundry room innovations ease household chores
(NC) With parents both heading off to work and children staying at home longer, life in the Canadian household has changed dramatically over the last four decades. While the image of mom smiling over the ironing board as dad leaves for the office is history, the weekly household chores still need to be done.
More often than not, today's household tasks are being shared among the family, with everyone pitching in. Even with the extra help, basic chores still take much precious time out of the day, so on-the-go families are considering appliances with innovations that can give hectic households some much needed time back.
“LG recently unveiled a mega capacity washer with a new time-saving feature called TurboWash,” says Laura McGowan, a senior brand manager at the company. “With up to 40 per cent more capacity than the average washing machine, this state-of-the-art appliance accommodates super-size loads reducing the number a family needs to run. Better yet, its turbo wash technology saves up to 20 minutes per load – and that means just three loads will add up to a precious hour of free time.”
Dryers have experienced similar time-saving innovations, McGowan points out. For example, LG's new Steam Technology features a steam generator that produces real steam right in in the dryer. Time-crunched family members can leave the iron in the cupboard and simply set the dryer to reduce wrinkles, making it simple for even younger members of the family to help out.
