Will you receive a T4 slip?
(NC) The tax experts at H&R Block answer one of the most frequently asked questions at this time of the year:
Q) I worked on contract over the summer and there was no tax taken off my paycheque. Will I get a T4?
A) If you were considered a self-employed contractor and no tax was deducted from your paycheque, you will not receive a T4. You will be responsible for reporting your income to the CRA but you will be able to claim business expenses against it, to help reduce your tax payable.
